The 21st Battalion was formed in March 1915 in Victoria, Australia. It formed part of the 6th Infantry Brigade, which consisted of the 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th Battalions.
The Battalion fought at Gallipoli, with periods in Egypt before and after, and on the Western Front.
